Medium Format Film Camera Gear: A Hands-On Workshop

Please join Philadelphia photographer RA Friedman for a morning of down-to-earth discussion about shooting larger film formats. In this informal two-hour seminar you’ll get to see if medium format is for you and learn how to find gear that suits your visual goals, shooting style and budget. Maybe you’ve shot 35mm, but want more detail, tonality and finer film grain?  Perhaps you admire the work of medium format photographers such as Vivian Mayer, Richard Avedon, and Diane Arbus? Maybe you want to experiment with a different way of working and a different view of the world?  Sources, camera features, and how to test your prospective buy will be covered. Additionally, representative camera models will be demonstrated live.

Up until about 2000 many fine commercial images were made on 120 size film. These pro cameras, now selling for a fraction of their original value, capture negatives six centimeters (about 2.25”) wide and can produce distinctive images of outstanding brilliance and clarity.

Guest teacher RA Friedman will be teaching this 3 hr class.

An email will be sent with detailed information about meeting point after registering. No refund will be issued if you cancel within 24 hrs of class start time.  We offer a 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the session.
