Pinhole Photography Workshop

  • Bethesda Fountain Central Park New York, NY USA

Guest teacher RA Friedman is back to teach us pinhole photography!

RA Friedman, M.F.A.,  will lead us through a 2.5 hour pinhole photography workshop with demos and hands-on practice, using simple and commonly available equipment and materials. The pinhole camera is an amazing low-cost photographic tool that opens up a host of image-making possibilities and will make you a better photographer. Create jewel-like, painterly photographs full of light and atmosphere.

This hands-on, down-to-earth and informal workshop will jump-start your pinhole adventure. You'll be making pinhole photographs that very day! You'll learn about the many gear and technique options available and get to try many of them including using instant film and special pinhole caps for digital cameras. Learn how combining basic and primitive analog tools with digital techniques can open up new creative horizons. Indoor and outdoor lighting and ways of determining correct exposure will be covered as well.

*We recommend that you to have an understanding of ISO, aperture and shutter speed to follow along with the technical aspects.*

Please bring your camera with you as well as a tripod if you have one.  RA will provide everything else.

RA  will meet you in front of the fountain.
