Destination Workshop:  japan

nov 5 - 14, 2019 - 3 spots left

The season of koyo (colorful leaves) is one of the most stunning seasons in Japan. It occurs a bit later than in the US, so we will be traveling in early November, hoping to catch the color in Kyoto and Tokyo, as well as in the northern region of Tohoku, with a chance to photograph a variety of landscapes, sites and city scenes.

Our journey will begin in Osaka, and we will spend several days in Kyoto, exploring the various aspects of the city, including visits to  Kinkakugi Temple (the "Golden Pavillion"), Nishiki Market, the Nara deer park,  and the Path of Philosophy. We will then take the famous bullet train north to Yamagata, for three days in the countryside, traveling all the way to the northernmost tip of the island at Honshu at Oirase, before returning by bullet train to Tokyo. Along the way we will stay at Japanese style inns and have a chance to travel through some of the most scenic areas of Japan.
