Destination Workshop:  morocco

February 21 - march 2, 2019 SOLD OUT

To visit Morocco is still like turning the pages of some illuminated Persian manuscript all embroidered with bright shapes and subtle lines. - Edith Wharton

Morocco is a feast for the senses, colorful and diverse, from the markets of Marrakesh to the snowy peaks of the Atlas mountains, the silence of the Sahara and the beaches of the Atlantic.

We will explore the city of Fes, with its royal palace and ancient medina, and its it's well-preserved medieval city, brimming with color and activity.    We will visit Marrakesh,  the old fortified city  and ancient alleys.  There will be stops to see Rabat, the capital of Morocco, and a day to visit Chefchaouen, the 'blue village,' in the Rif mountains.  We will also see the Roman ruins at Volubilis and travel through the country of the Berbers, up through the red dunes of Erg Chebbi for a night of desert camping.  Later there will be the great canyons of Todgha Gorges to explore and a journey through the Valley of the Roses.  And more.
