Experience San Miguel de Allende during Day of the Dead, a time of remembrance, color, and tradition.
We’ll explore San Miguel’s streets, architecture, markets, and seasonal celebrations while developing your photographic eye.
From elaborate decorations to quiet everyday moments, we’ll take time to notice what draws us in and create photographs that tell our own stories.
About This Workshop
Our time together will combine photography instruction, walking explorations, cultural experiences, and time to enjoy San Miguel independently.
We’ll work with composition, light, perspective, intuition, and visual storytelling. You’ll receive individual guidance while photographing, along with opportunities to share and discuss your images.
We’ll also gather in the courtyard at Casa de la Cuesta for relaxed lessons and conversations about the photographs we’re creating.
Arrive October 30 for our welcome gathering and dinner. The workshop concludes with departure on November 4.
What Makes This Experience Different?
You’ll be encouraged to slow down, notice what catches your attention, and explore how your choices shape a photograph.
How does a different perspective change the story? What can light, gesture, or a small detail convey? When does simplifying an image make it stronger?
Through practical exercises and personal feedback, you’ll develop confidence in your own way of seeing. There will also be time to enjoy the food, wander, shop, rest, and experience San Miguel beyond the camera.

Where We’ll Stay
We’ll stay at Casa de la Cuesta, a bed and breakfast filled with Mexican art, color, and character.
Its courtyard, terraces, and gardens provide welcoming places to gather and relax between outings. The property is within walking distance of San Miguel’s historic center.
Five nights are included, with check-in October 30 and check-out November 4, 2027. Breakfast is included each morning.
Your private room is included, with no single supplement. If you’d like to share a room with another participant or bring a non-photographer companion, please contact us for availability and pricing.
Additional nights must be arranged and paid for separately, subject to availability.

Activity Level
Easy to moderate
San Miguel is a walking city with cobblestone streets, hills, uneven surfaces, and stairs. Celebrations may also involve crowds and periods of standing.
Casa de la Cuesta is on a hill, approximately a ten-minute walk from the town center along cobblestone streets. Some steps may not have railings.
Participants should be comfortable carrying their own equipment and walking between locations. Please contact us before registering if you have mobility concerns or questions about whether the workshop will be a comfortable fit.

Private room: $3,200 per person
Shared room: $3,050 per person, based on two participants sharing
Includes five nights in a private room at Casa de la Cuesta, breakfast each morning, our welcome dinner, photography instruction, and the activities and shared airport transfers listed above.
An $800 nonrefundable deposit per person reserves your place. The remaining balance - $2,400 for a private room or $2,250 for a shared room - is due September 1, 2027.

Who Can Join?
Students of all experience levels are welcome, including complete beginners. Guidance will be tailored to your experience and interests.
Bring a smartphone, DSLR, mirrorless camera, or compact camera—whichever you enjoy using.
Non-photographer companions are also welcome. A reduced companion rate is available when sharing a room with a registered participant. Please contact us for details.

Your Instructor: Mindy Véissid
Mindy Véissid is an award-winning international fine art photographer, educator, author, and founder of Art of Intuitive Photography, a boutique photography school based in New York City.
She began teaching Art of Intuitive Photography classes and workshops in 2010. Her approach combines practical photography instruction with curiosity, intuition, and personal expression.
Rather than teaching students to create photographs that all look the same, Mindy helps each person become more confident with their camera, trust what catches their attention, and develop their own way of seeing.
Her approach to photography centers on intuition, vulnerability, and trust. Her work often tells a story or reads like a poem, inviting the viewer to look more deeply and connect with what lies beneath the surface.
Her photographs have been exhibited in the United States and Europe and published in magazines and online publications. She has led photography classes, workshops, retreats, and small-group travel experiences in New York City and around the world.

When should I arrive?
Plan to arrive on October 30, 2027, in time for our welcome gathering and dinner.
We’ll share the meeting details before the workshop. You’re welcome to arrive earlier; additional accommodations and any separate airport transportation must be arranged and paid for independently.
When should I depart?
Plan to check out and depart on November 4, 2027.
If you’re using the included shared airport transfer, please coordinate your flight with us before booking.
Which airport should I use?
Our group airport transfers will be arranged from Querétaro International Airport (QRO).
Please contact us before booking your flights so we can coordinate travel arrangements.
How do the included airport transfers work?
Airport transportation is included for participants arriving together on the designated group flight or transfer and departing together on the designated return transfer.
If your flight arrives or departs at a different time, you’ll be responsible for the cost of your separate transportation. We can help you arrange it.
Is the hotel included?
Yes. Five nights at Casa de la Cuesta are included, from October 30 through the morning of November 4.

Can I share a room or bring a non-photographer companion?
Yes, subject to availability. Two workshop participants sharing a room pay $3,050 each.
Do I need photography experience?
No. Beginners and experienced photographers are welcome. Individual guidance allows you to work at your own level.
Can I use my smartphone?
Absolutely. Smartphone photographers receive the same creative guidance and individual attention as participants using cameras.
Can I join on my own?
Yes. Many participants join without knowing anyone beforehand. Our small-group setting makes it easy to get acquainted while still allowing time and space for yourself.
Are meals included?
Breakfast each morning and our welcome dinner are included.
Other lunches and dinners are paid separately, giving you opportunities to explore San Miguel’s restaurants and cafés.
Are all Day of the Dead events included?
We’ll explore the seasonal atmosphere and celebrations available during our stay. Specific events, access, and schedules depend on local arrangements.
Any separately ticketed activities or optional excursions are paid for independently unless expressly listed as included.
Is travel insurance recommended?
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, interruption, medical needs, and your travel arrangements.
What is your cancellation policy?
A $800 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your place.
The remaining balance is due by September 1, 2027. If payment is not received by that date, we reserve the right to release your place and retain your deposit.
If you cancel after the final balance has been paid, payments are nonrefundable. You may transfer your place to another eligible participant with our approval.
If there is a waiting list, we will make a reasonable effort to fill your place, but we cannot guarantee that a replacement will be found.
If Art of Intuitive Photography cancels the workshop, payments made directly to Art of Intuitive Photography will be refunded.
In the event of severe weather, natural disaster, pandemic, border closure, political disruption, or another circumstance beyond our control, we reserve the right to modify, postpone, or reschedule the workshop as necessary.
