From the iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas tree to intimate moments in quiet neighborhoods, NYC during the holidays offers endless photographic inspiration.

This 3 day workshop invites you to develop your photographic eye amid New York's striking contrasts of old and new, intimate and grand, peaceful and energetic. You’ll explore how to capture the dance of light across famous facades, frame the vibrant palette of holiday displays, and find poetic moments in bustling urban scenes. Whether you're documenting the emotional power of iconic landmarks or the subtle details of neighborhood celebrations, you'll develop techniques to convey the authentic spirit of this magnificent city through your unique perspective.

How to handle challenging holiday lighting, find intimate moments amid crowds, and see familiar scenes with fresh eyes. You'll develop techniques for urban photography while building confidence in your creative vision.

Who Can Join?

Whether you're a novice seeking to improve your skills or an experienced photographer looking for fresh inspiration, this workshop is designed to elevate your photography while fostering creative growth and lasting connections. All cameras including Smartphones are welcome. Non photographers are also welcome.

  • Discover how NYC's holiday magic deepens as daylight fades. After lunch we’ll walk south to the financial center to capture the architecture of old New York. From there, an express bus takes us to Dyker Heights, where entire blocks glow with extravagant Christmas displays. We’ll finish the evening at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, photographing the magical Lightscape installation as it transforms the gardens into a luminous winter dream.

Instructor: Mindy Véissid

Mindy is an innovative, award-winning international fine art photographer, founder of Art of Intuitive Photography, a boutique photography school in NYC, and an educator.

Her approach to photography focuses on using intuition, vulnerability and trust to show a deeper sense of who she is and what she sees. Mindy's intention is that her photos tell a story or a poem, guiding the viewer deeper into her image to show that's it's ok to be who you are, to trust yourself and your body (intuition). Mindy's photos have been exhibited in the US and Europe and have been published in various magazines and websites.

Mindy started teaching her Art of Intuitive Photography classes and workshops in 2010. In her classes she helps her students trust their intuition and creativity providing a fun and experiential approach to photography.

In the case of acts of God, war, disaster, pandemic, border closure or unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to retain your fees and reschedule or make any necessary changes to the trip. Because there is planning on our and the hotel’s part, rescheduling the trip is the best option.
