“So wondrous wild, the whole might seem The scenery of a fairy dream."
— Sir Walter Scott, The Lady of the Lake
About this tour
Join us as we explore southern and central Scotland, traveling from Glasgow through Ayrshire, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, Highland Perthshire, Pitlochry, and Stirling. Along the way, we'll experience castles, lochs, villages, and the stories woven through the Scottish landscape.
With photography guidance throughout, most meals included, and a group limited to just 6 participants, this journey gives you the space to slow down, notice more, and experience Scotland in a way that most travelers never do.
What makes this tour different?
This isn't a trip about taking perfect photographs or checking landmarks off a list.
It's about experiencing Scotland more deeply - its landscapes, villages, history, and stories - and using photography as a way to pay closer attention to the places and moments you might otherwise pass by.
You'll receive photography guidance throughout the trip, but you'll also be given the space to explore, be curious, and develop your own way of seeing Scotland.
By the end of the tour, you'll leave with stronger photographs, greater confidence in your photography skills, a richer sense of the places you've visited, and new friendships formed along the way.
Why Travel With Us?
Small group limited to 6 participants
Plenty of time to photograph without rushing
Individual photography guidance throughout the journey
A balance of iconic locations and lesser-known places
Comfortable accommodations and thoughtful planning so you can focus on the experience
Photography guidance is woven naturally throughout the journey through informal teaching, image feedback, shooting exercises, and one-on-one support while we travel.
Where We'll Stay

Our stays include deluxe accommodations in Glasgow, a traditional family-run hotel, a beautifully restored 17th-century coaching inn, and a charming 4-star country house hotel surrounded by woodland.
Who Can Join?
This trip is designed for travelers who enjoy photography, discovery, and learning in a relaxed, supportive environment. It’s open to photographers of all experience levels — as well as anyone who simply wants to explore Scotland with curiosity and a camera in hand.

Itinerary:
Day 1 - Arrive in Glasgow
Arrive in Glasgow and transfer to our hotel.
The day is intentionally left open so everyone can settle in after traveling. Depending on arrival times, participants may choose to rest, explore independently, or join Mindy for an informal walk and first photography session in the city.
We’ll gather in the evening to meet one another and talk about the journey ahead.
Day 2 - Robert Burns and Ayrshire
After breakfast, we’ll meet our local guide and begin our journey south from Glasgow.
Our first destination is the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, which explores the life and enduring influence of Scotland’s national poet. We’ll also visit Burns Cottage, where he spent the first years of his life.
A local storyteller will bring Burns and his world to life, giving us a more personal introduction to Scottish history and culture.
Day 3 - Culzean Castle and Brig o’ Doon
Today we’ll visit Culzean Castle, an elaborate 18th-century castle overlooking the Ayrshire coast.
Later, we’ll continue through the Ayrshire countryside and visit Brig o’ Doon, the historic cobblestone bridge made famous in Robert Burns’s poem Tam o’ Shanter.
Day 4 - Traditional Weaving and The Hill House
We’ll begin the day at a traditional weaver’s cottage and working museum, where we’ll learn about Scotland’s handwoven textile history and see a 200-year-old loom in action.
We’ll then travel to Helensburgh, an elegant town on the Firth of Clyde, to visit The Hill House. Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh, the house is known for its distinctive architecture, interiors, furniture, and careful attention to form.
Day 5 - Luss, Loch Lomond and Inchcailloch Island
Today we’ll explore Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
We’ll begin in Luss, a conservation village with cobblestone streets, traditional cottages, gardens, and views across the loch. There will be time to walk, photograph, and notice the details that give the village its character.
We’ll then take a scenic boat ride across Loch Lomond to Inchcailloch Island, part of the Loch Lomond National Nature Reserve.
The island is home to old woodland, an ancient church, quiet trails, shoreline views, and a deep sense of history. Weather permitting, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch near the water before returning by boat to Luss.
Day 6 - Rob Roy, the Falls of Dochart and the Scottish Crannog Centre
This morning we’ll travel to Balquhidder to visit the grave of Rob Roy MacGregor, one of Scotland’s most legendary historical figures.
We’ll continue to the village of Killin, where we’ll photograph the cascading Falls of Dochart as the river moves through the heart of the village.
Later, we’ll visit the Scottish Crannog Centre, an interactive museum devoted to Iron Age life in Scotland. The reconstructed structures, demonstrations, objects, and setting on Loch Tay offer a visually engaging look at how people lived more than 2,500 years ago.
We’ll stop for traditional afternoon tea before continuing to Pitlochry, where we’ll stay for the next two nights.
Day 7 - Blair Castle, Pitlochry and Whisky Tasting
Today we’ll visit Blair Castle, the ancestral home of the Atholl family for more than seven centuries.
Set against the landscape of Highland Perthshire, the castle contains grand rooms, historic collections, gardens, and architectural details spanning many periods of Scottish history.
After lunch, we’ll return to Pitlochry for free time. Participants may explore the town’s independent shops, photograph along the River Tummel, or visit the fish ladder created to help salmon travel upstream.
Later, we’ll take part in a guided whisky tasting and learn about the process, traditions, and craftsmanship behind Scotland’s best-known spirit.
Day 8 - Stirling, the Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle
We’ll travel south to Stirling, once considered the gateway to the Highlands and one of the most historically important places in Scotland.
We'll explore one of Scotland's most historically important regions, visiting the Wallace Monument and spending time in and around Stirling, where centuries of Scottish history unfolded.
After returning to Glasgow, we’ll gather for our final evening together.
Day 9 - Departure
